Thank you to the Wayne County Foundation for the on-going support to improve the quality of life for our shelter animals. Your support in special projects let the community know that Wayne County cares about its lost, abused and neglected animals. One of their recent contributions helped replace and improve our back courtyard with new kennels with roofs and a concrete floor.

Thanks to all who voted in the Shelter Challenge to help us win the Indiana $1,000 grant a total of 2 times in 2012! Thank you to The Animal Rescue Site for your on-going support of local animal shelters, and the generous financial assistance to our organization. With your support we are saving lives and making a difference for the animals in Wayne County.

The Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation is committed to making life more bearable for children, families and pets, in need of a helping paw. With the sale of each full-sized Bearemy’s Kennel Pals® friend -- a collection of BuildABear Workshop® plush dogs -- one dollar is donated to domestic pet programs including local animal shelters, stray pet rescue and rehabilitation organizations, and pet education programs around the country. These funds are available to qualified non-profit organizations in the United States and Canada.

Thank you to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for the generous Spay/Nueter grant we recieved for November 2013 - May 2014. The $2,500 will help our community in the fight against homeless pets. Every dog and cat that comes through our doors will no longer produce offspring of potentially hundreds of thousands more animals who would otherwise add to the homeless pet crisis in our community.

Thank you to Hills Pet Nutrition for the continued support for our animals nutritional needs. Without you, our animals would have to rely on various donated food and would not know where their next meals would be coming from. Their health and wellness is in big part due to your contribution and subsidized food contract.

In October 2012 volunteers from Lowe's in Richmond, IN arrived with supplies to improve the shelter. They were our "Hero for a day!" With their help, many projects were accomplished and made the shelter a better place for the animals.

Jason Shull of the Richmond Moose Lodge #167 told HELP that the lodge wanted to do something for the animals, Board Chairman Susan Beeson immediately thought of the long standing need for adequate cat housing that would not harbor bacteria, allowing us to stop the spread of illness among our cats. The shelter needed something easy to clean and disinfect, something that would allow the cats to remain in groups for socialization but maintain separation when necessary. The Moose Lodge was behind the idea with funds to purchase and install enclosures in the main lobby. Former Board Member Sheila Zwickey added additional funding to complete the project. Thank you Jason, the Richmond Moose Lodge and Sheila for their generous donation. The cats LOVE their new homes!
